Try to bring only a small hold-all, suitcase or rucksack; inland flights only allow 10 kgs of baggage anyway. If you need extra (warm) clothes for climbing Mt Kinabalu, these can be left separately at your accommodation base.
You can buy most essentials here, very cheaply, if you do forget something!
