Beaches, mountains and longhouses

Borneo offers a quite unique variety of experiences - from trekking through a region that has hardly changed in 50 years, without roads in or out, high up in the mountains of the interior to sophisticated shopping malls in the coastal towns and cities and finally also a haven of wildlife and unique species in its rainforests and along its river banks.

By selecting your main interests (just click!) from the contents on the left, we hope you will find the things that really will make your trip to Borneo a "once in a lifetime" experience.

Generally we have concentrated on combining moderately priced accommodation with the most popular tours, so that for an inclusive price you can experience more of Borneo than the four walls and lush gardens of just one luxury resort.

In some areas, notably the Highlands of Sarawak (Bario), there are only privately run lodges and on some of the treks you will have to stay the night at simple jungle shelters and abandoned longhouses. However most of the time, even in those remote areas, you will be overwhelmed by the welcome and friendliness of the tribespeople around you. Not without reason is it called the "Heart of Borneo".

Most of our holidays include tours; we try to provide a personalised service and ensure that there are not a lot of unforeseen expenses on top of the holiday cost.

We also try to cater for the single traveller, (much penalised by larger organisations,) and fit them in with others to keep costs down; however where a room is occupied by just one person, some places still charge the double room rate; also a guide has to be paid for whether there are six or just one person going.

We welcome all itinerary suggestions and, given enough time, can usually tailor most packages to suit.
